While talking about Ichiro Suzuki’s retirement, Rodriguez revealed that two people told him they were planning to retire at 50. He said “One was Tom Brady. The other one was Ichiro. And they both meant it.” 

This may have seemed like a casual comment, but it might stand true. Since Brady and Rodriguez are such good friends, it makes sense that Brady might have shared some of his career plans with him.
