The Philadelphia Phillies stood as the runner-up of the World Series 2022. Making the way to the top was not easy for the team, but they did it with every ounce of perseverance they had. This year’s playoff berth for the Phillies was important for them as it was their first since the 2011 season.

However, a former MLB star has a different opinion on the same. Even though it has been over a month since the World Series, the disputed MLB legend did not hesitate to take a jibe at the Phillies.

Recently, the Philadelphia Eagles, an NFL team, also qualified for the postseason this year. And MLB legend Lenny Dykstra chose to mock the Phillies for the way they entered the postseason. He did so by comparing Philadelphia’s football team’s entry into the playoffs.

What did the MLB veteran say about the Philadelphia Phillies?

Philadelphia Eagles had 12 wins out of 13 in week 14 of the NFL season. As they did so, they claimed their rightful spot in the playoffs by winning over the New York Giants. The Eagles did have an easy entry into the playoffs when compared to the Phillies’ entry.

But Dykstra chose to make fun of the team he played for in the last season of his career. In his tweet, he wrote“Congratulations to the Philadelphia @Eagles on being 12-1 and qualifying for the postseason (a little more convincingly than the @Phillies did so).”

Not to forget, in his eight years with the Phillies, the disputed veteran has led the team to the World Series once and helped them win the NL pennant after a decade in 1993.
