Retired MLB Veteran Albert Pujols Shows Love For His Girlfriend and the Kansas City Chiefs at His “First Ever” Super Bowl

One of the biggest days of the NFL season just got over and people are still reeling from the after-effects. After witnessing an edge-of-the-seat game, the KC Chiefs fans rejoiced, as the team emerged victorious against the Eagles. The audiences included everyone from fans to celebrities to personalities from other sports. One such name was the former MLB icon, Albert Pujols.

The former first baseman retired after the 2022 season, which means he has a bit of a freer schedule now. And he decided to spend that free time at one of the biggest events of American culture. Super Bowl LVII was truly a splendid game to be at. The Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ stole the show, even with an injured ankle. In addition to the game, there was Rihanna’s halftime performance, which is precisely what Pujols’ partner, Nicole Fernandez, seemed to be interested in!

It’s never too late to give in to the national frenzy and get swept up by the football tide. Over the years, Super Bowl Sunday has become something of ritual families follow religiously. And Albert Pujols jumped right on that train when he posed for a photo at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. He captioned a photo on his Instagram, “Excited to see my Chiefs at my first ever Super Bowl! @chiefs #SBLVII #ChiefsKingdom”.

The retired Cardinals player relates to the Chiefs because he used to play for the same state as them, Missouri. He posed alongside Fernandez, who shared a similar picture on her social media handles. But her caption read a little differently. Understandably, she was more excited to see Rihanna perform than either the Chiefs or the Eagles!

As always, Super Bowl saw celebrities from the entertainment industry, like Paul Rudd, Adele, Jay-Z, Cara Delevingne, Bradley Cooper, etc., in attendance. But in addition, some gems from the sports world were also present.

Among one of the biggest NFL fans, NBA legend LeBron James was spotted in a suite at the stadium. But he got a surprising welcome when the camera featured him on the Jumbotron. For the unversed, James recently broke a long-held record, previously set by none other than six-time MVP Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. For dethroning the Big A as the league’s all-time scoring leader, King James got booed by football fans.
