Derek Jeter and Tom Brady are two of the biggest names in American sports. One dominated Major League Baseball for over 20 years, while the other one is still going strong in his forties. Such is the domination they have in their respective sports.

But there is a reason they have been so successful in MLB and NFL. Jeter and Brady never compromised with their profession. Though Jeter does not play the game anymore, Brady is still one of the best players in the NFL, even in his forties.

Apart from their winning mentality, there is another thing that these two have in common is their ability to lead the team very well. Recently, while discussing the ESPN-produced docuseries, Jeter opened up about the secrets behind Tom Brady’s success in the MFL.

When asked about the ingredients of a leader, Jeter pointed out that one has to perform well and then make the people believe that they are a good leader. The former Yankee said this while talking about Tom Brady.

“He is fun to watch, a Michigan guy. I follow Tom from his Ann Arbor days… One, you have to perform, and I think when you perform, people ultimately look at you being a leader. Tom does not make excuses, right?” Jeter said.

“What’s one thing you don’t want to say or have a leader that makes excuse. And then you also don’t have to talk about being a leader. I think you want people to respect you and if they respect you enough, then ultimately they may follow.”

Notably, at almost 45, Tom Brady is still going strong in the NFL. The Buccaneers quarterback holds the record to win Super Bowl for the most time (7).
