The entire Phillies circle is convinced they’ve found the Queen of Karens. During the fourth inning of Friday’s Marlins-Phillies game at LoanDepot Park, slugger Harrison Bader hit a solo home run that landed in the stands. Out of several fans, including a woman now dubbed as “Karen,” scrambled to pick up the ball. However, it was a man dressed in a Phillies jersey who claimed the ball for his son Lincoln, only to lose the ball in the end to the same lady.

Watching the kid cry after his father gave the ball to ‘Karen,’ the Marlins and Phillies stepped up and offered him some goodies and an autographed bat from Bader himself. Safe to say that Lincoln’s day was made. But after the incident went viral on the internet, Marcus Lemonis, whose net worth is over $900 million, probably gave the biggest birthday gift with a World Series ticket.
Lemonis, a Marquette University graduate and chairman and CEO of Camping World, Good Sam Enterprises, and Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. took X to share the news. “I’ll send this young man and his family to the MLB World Series on me. Oh and you just won an RV as well. #DadofYearWinsThatone @barstoolsports,” he noted.

Notably, ever since the incident took place, it has become a topic of discussion on the internet. According to NPR, when the incident took over, the woman can be heard saying to Lincoln’s father, “You took it from me … that was in my hands.” It is to be noted that the video still does not show whether ‘Karen’ actually grabbed the ball first. And while the outrage continues against the unidentified woman, a New Jersey School has confirmed whether they are related to the Phillies Karen.

“The woman identified on social media as ‘Phillies Karen’ is not, and has never been an employee of the Hammonton Public Schools,” the N.J. district wrote in a statement on its social media accounts. “Social media and news reports indicating that she is, are incorrect.” After being dragged into this incident, the school district also took a fun jibe at the unidentified Phillies fan.
“Anyone who works for our school district, attended as a student or lives in our community would obviously have caught the ball bare-handed in the first place,” the district wrote, “avoiding this entire situation.”

At the end, Phillies Karen did get the home run ball, but at what cost? That’s the question she may be asking for the rest of her life after becoming an internet troll overnight. As for the Phillies, they won the second game as well, and are now on course to perhaps dethrone the Brewers from the top.
