2022 seems to be a good year for the Yankees fans. Because apart from the Yankees running the show in MLB, their legendary captain, Derek Jeter, has taken the internet by storm. After years of waiting, Derek Jeter has finally made his social media debut. And how? Jeter has received enormous love on his debut in the virtual world.

However, some people might not be glad about Jeter making his Twitter debut. Just a day after Jeter announced his arrival on Twitter, ace American sports radio personality Chris Russo, aka Mad Dog, did not seem to like this step by the Yankees legend. He even took a dig at Jeter for making his Twitter debut.

It might just be a mere coincidence that Derek Jeter made his first tweet on the same day he smashed his first hit in MLB, 27 years ago.

Chris ‘Mad Dog’ Russo is curious about what would Derek Jeter tweet

It has not been even a week since Derek Jeter arrived on the social media platforms, and he has already become a hot topic in mainstream media. Recently, ace American Sports personalities Stephen A. Smith and Chris Russo sat together for ESPN and shared their reaction to Jeter making his social media Tweet.

Unlike Stephen A. Smith, Russo was not glad about this, as he hilariously took a dig at the Yankees legend. Russo said that even if Jeter is on Twitter, it does not change anything. Because, per Russo, Jeter is not going to do anything special.

“Oh my god! No… It’s almost beneath him and he is on Twitter. Why? He is not going to say anything interesting,” Chris Russo said. “What do you think, you get these tremendous things statements from Derek Jeter? He is going to put himself out and knock Joe Torre or knock the Marlins or knock Stanton or knock the owner of Miami (Marlins), Bruce Sherman?”
