At times, baseball players are known for things completely out of the box, something that would amaze everyone. Most recently, a New York Yankees outfielder baffled the baseball world with his bizarre yet sweet accessory choice while playing in the ballpark. And this comes amidst a difficult season with the Bronx Bombers this year. 

The Yankees beat the New York Mets in a close 7-6 game despite missing Aaron Judge through injury. It was during that very game that the young outfielder shocked the baseball world with his accessory choice. 

Oswaldo Cabrera baffles many by wearing his grandmother’s tooth on a necklace

Many players have accessories that they wear because of sentimental value. It could be a watch, chain, or even a necklace. But most recently, Oswaldo Cabrera shocked the baseball world by wearing a necklace with his grandmother’s tooth on it. It truly was a bizarre sight as he took the field during the Yankees’ most recent game. Even commentators were left baffled as the story behind it was explained. Apparently, Cabrera’s mother made him do it. Talkin’ Yanks shared a video of the Bombers’ outfielder wearing it as commentators were left baffled. 

A commentator said “Walked by me in the clubhouse today, and I said, ‘What’s on your necklace? Is that a tooth?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, it’s a tooth, my mom told me to wear it.’ It’s his grandma Anna’s tooth, and he said, ‘Whatever my mom tells me to do, I’m gonna do.’”

The commentators continued to discuss the necklace and were all genuinely taken aback by it. Furthermore, there were a lot of questions that they wanted to ask Cabrera. Most recently, the struggling outfielder joined hands with Aaron Judge to surprise some young fans.

Oswaldo Cabrera surprised some young Little League players by calling his captain Aaron Judge on FaceTime. Judge picked up the call and indulged the young fans, who were left excited by the moment. The two outfielders created a special moment that these youngsters will cherish for life. Furthermore, they did it over a simple video call.
