Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani maybe two of the most famous Los Angeles Angels players, but the rest of the team is proving itself worthy too. While the Japanese player’s free agency looms closer than ever, there must be clarity in his direction. But the Angels are certainly stepping up their game, proving they’re worthy of having a player of Ohtani’s caliber. Although the two-way player didn’t shatter any records with his latest performance, the Angels certainly did.

With a crushing victory against the Colorado Rockies, the Angels won 25-1; The Halos left fans roaring as virtually every player that came up to the plate scored runs. For once, it wasn’t the Japanese superstar’s name on the lips of audience chants, but rather names like Mickey Moniak, Hunter Renfroe, and Taylor Thaiss, among others. However, while the score broke a franchise record last set in 1979, some MLB fans are skeptical.

Fantastic victories in baseball are something of a common occurrence. But most fans appreciate it more when the performance is consistent. Contrarily, the Angels have historically not been uniform in their victories, though the 2023 season has them going 42-36. The club has climbed to the second rank in the AL West, with yesterday’s display against the Rockies proving their true strength.

And yet, it was not Ohtani that led the team with his stunning individual performance. The two-way phenom contributed a single run because no player is invincible. So, for once, when the Japanese phenom didn’t contribute to the massive victory, fans didn’t hold back from mockery.

Some fans were delighted at the overwhelming score, as well as 28 hits, another record.

However, since the team also suffers considerable losses, fans are not convinced this performance will continue.

While Ohtani may not have given a repeat performance of the day before, when he hit back-to-back homers with Trout, other players shone brighter this time.

It is indeed one of the best performances Coors Field has seen in recent times. Moniak and Renfroe went 5-for-5, hitting three doubles and adding a home run. But the real fun started in the third inning – Mike Trout came in with a solo long ball, followed by Brandon Drury.

With another back-to-back home run situation, Matt Thaiss also jumped on the home run bandwagon. Taylor Ward and Ohtani added RBI singles later, as did recently added Eduardo Escobar. Even before the second half of the game rolled around, the Los Angeles team was racing towards a win.
