In a midst of a heated sports game, anything can happen. The unexpected is always lurking around the corner, waiting to pounce at the most unexpected moment. Take, for instance, a recent spring training game between the New York Mets and the Miami Marlins. WATCH: Sprinklers turning on during New York Mets games
Imagine the players are in the thick of the game, adrenaline pumping, muscles straining, when out of nowhere, a sudden shower of water comes gushing out of the ground. As the water sprinkled all over the field, the commentators took notice. They joked about how the pitchers could use the sprinklers as a way to get extra time between pitches if they only had the access to the on-off switch.

They then talked about why the sprinklers were installed in the first place, “We have a brand new field here at Clover Park this year, they put it in at the behest of Buck Showalter who was not pleased with the field conditions last year and they have done such a nice job and have kept it in such perfect shape and they’ve done it by turning the sprinklers on every night at 7:45.” And above this all, they could imagine an old groundskeeper Tommy, chuckling at the chaos unfolding at the field.
