We are all probably sold on the fact that the Philadelphia Phillies are one of the few clubs over the last few seasons in the league that have shown an unwavering commitment to winning. For this particular season, Dave Dombrowski’s trade deadline decisions played a major role. Remember when the Phillies notched the NL East crown last month and John Middleton went all in with Bryce and the team?

That day, Dombrowski wasn’t there while all were enjoying the champagne bath. Yet, Middleton praised him and said, “Dave’s been a master.” Let’s just say, he’s once again about to pull off another stunner. This weekend, former Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. had a word with Devan Kaney of Sports Radio 94WIP. When asked if there is a move that Dombrowski and the front office are about to pull that can shock Philly’s fans and a move no one’s expecting, he had a candid response.
“You may see one of the big contracts moved. You may be someone there and see one of their big contracts moved. I’m not saying who. And I know there’s a lot of no-trade clauses. But you may see one of those big contracts get moved somehow, some way. That would be scandalous.”

Further, he was asked if it was like a Trea Turner contract. But he chose to give a vague answer.

“I’m just telling you about the big contracts. That’s all I’ll say. I have a feeling that they may be exploring that.”
For the record, there are in total five major contracts that the team has on its books for next season. Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Aaron Nola, Zack Wheeler, and Nick Castellanos.
The club will probably not move on from Harper or Wheeler. And if we talk about Castellanos, then he’s only under contract for next season. After that, he will enter the free agency market. Now, that leaves us with two options.
Both Turner and Nola have a full no-trade clause in their contracts. And that means the player would have to agree to waive it depending on their willingness to join the other team. It’s all a bit ambiguous at the moment. So, let’s discuss what’s clear.

What’s your perspective on:
Could the Phillies really trade a big name like Trea Turner to make room for Kyle Tucker?
Have an interesting take?
Apparently, the Phillies are expected to make a major splash addition to their offense.
Cubs’ Kyle Tucker linked to Phillies ahead of free agency
Recently, the top 10 suitors were named for Kyle Tucker, the Chicago Cubs’ star outfielder. And the Phillies landed all the way at number 2!
The suitors named by Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter emphasized that the Phillies’ top priority after this season would be to bring back 2025 NL home run leader Kyle Tucker. At the same time, he mentioned that Tucker could very quickly work his way into the Phillies’ offseason plans.
Reuter mentioned that in case the Phillies lose Schwarber, or if they decide to spend some big bucks, then Kyle Tucker, the four-time All-Star, would fit perfectly in their current core.
Out of those 10 teams listed, the Phillies’ NL rival, the Los Angeles Dodgers, were ranked at number 1. It makes sense given how Tucker will be entering the free agency at just 28 years old.
He has been one of the league’s most feared hitters for a couple of years now. He did have a shaky performance for the Cubs during the second half of this season, but he’s still in line to get a well-deserved mega contract. Could it be the Phillies?
