The 15-year wait has finally ended. The Bronx’s pride, the New York Yankees are now in the World Series. Though one can’t say it was an easy journey – it took Juan Soto’s 10th-inning home run to seal the deal, but naturally, once the inevitable happened, tears were shed and cheers were made. The happiest was Aaron Judge, the captain whose legacy was constantly questioned due to a lack of silverware.

“This is even sweeter (than I expected),” Aaron Judge said after the game. All Rise was finally standing as an ALCS winner. It took three tries but finally, he held that pennant in his hands. As Judge said, this was truly “special” not just for him but the whole team. However, amidst this rush, one other man was shedding tears of happiness. It was Judge’s father Wayne Judge.

Certainly, it was a huge moment for Wayne, he wouldn’t have imagined that a baby he adopted 32 years ago would not only become an iconic Yankee but go on to play in the World Series. It was obvious that multiple feelings were bubbling inside the Senior Judge who couldn’t help his tears from falling down his cheeks. In a picture that has since gone viral, Aaron Judge can be seen holding on to his hero while celebrating perhaps his career’s greatest triumph (till now at least).

Interestingly Wayne wasn’t the only one there. Aaron Judge’s mother Patty too was there to celebrate her son’s win. Even though Judge hasn’t been his usual best self in playoffs till now with 6 RBIs and 2 home runs, he did more than enough to sail the Yanks through the ALCS. But as Judge said entire clubhouse proved its mettle in this postseason. But even then this was personal, after all, it was his father who made him fall in love with sports.

How Aaron Judge’s parents instilled the love for baseball within him

In 2022, Aaron Judge revealed how his father inspired him during Yankees’ Hope Week. The Superstar shared how despite being tired and exhausted, Wayne always found time for him. How his dad always made time to play catch with Judge. “He’s tired, he just wants to hang up and rest up. But he’s always took the time to spend five minutes, ten minutes with my side. Those are things, those are memories I hold on to until this day,” Judge said about his father.

Even though Aaron Judge was adopted merely two days after he was born, the star has no complaints. In fact, he’s grateful to his parents for giving him the best childhood possible. All Rise noted how when they told him about his adoption when he was 10, it didn’t affect him that much. “Some kids grow in their mom’s stomach; I grew in my mom‘s heart,” Judge said to Newsday once. Apart from values, Judge’s mother also gave him a love for the Yankees.

Patty was always a big Yankees fan. In fact, she was one of the reasons why Judge re-signed with the Bronx Bombers. So as it stands, not only is the Judge family celebrating the triumph of their son, but they’re also celebrating the win of their favorite team. Now comes the World Series and everyone knows – that is what this is all about. Could Judge end the Yankees’ 15-year drought? What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
