Baseball legend Alex Rodriguez, in his twenty-two years of career in Major League Baseball, earned many accolades. With those accolades, his fans also got increased exponentially. Even though he went through various hurdles in his career, he overcame all of them and realized his mistakes as well. But never in his life would he have ever thought that he would ever get tailgated by a private detective. And that too after a year of hanging up his cleats. 

On top of that, what must have shocked the former baseball player the most was knowing that his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez was the one to hire a private investigator to follow his every move. Yes! It was none other than one of Rodriguez’s one most famous girlfriends, megastar Jennifer Lopez, who put a detective on him. But why would she ever do this? Did she not trust her beau enough? 

What led to Jennifer Lopez hiring a private detective to follow ex-fiance Alex Rodriguez?

The former athlete’s reputation in his personal life wasn’t as good as it should have been. The reason that his marriage to Cynthia Scurtis got over was that he had apparently cheated on her with Madonna. And a similar kind of news got posted about the former Yankee in the first few months of his relationship with JLo. Therefore, finding out the truth might seem like what prompted her to hire a private investigator.

But her beau Rodriguez eventually found out about the PI and was not happy about it either. An insider told the US weekly, “He found out, and they had a huge fight. But they’re working through it.”

Despite whatever was going on in his personal life with the story that got posted about him, he did not like the fact that his girlfriend had a detective tail him. But eventually, the couple got over it. 

Lopez felt lucky with Rodriguez?

Regardless of what was a brief setback in the early stages of their relationship, they quickly got over it. And they started gushing about each other in their interviews. Lopez, in one of her interviews, told Us, “He’s caring and sweet and capable and responsible and just all the beautiful things you would want a man to be. I feel really lucky right now, so I’m excited about life, but I’m more excited for people to get to see who he really is.”

The couple went on to date till 2019, when they got engaged and stayed together for two more years. Throughout their four years of relationship, they continued to make headlines before their infamous breakup in April 2021.
