New York Yankees v/s the Boston Red Sox is a century-old rivalry, and probably the wildest rivalry in sport. Although the Yankees have more titles than the Red Sox, the Boston-based team has dominated the Pinstripes in the modern era.

A few years ago, this rivalry became more iconic, when the British Royal Family became a part of it. Yes! Earlier in 2019, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, played their first-ever major league game in London. And none other than Britain?s Prince Harry, and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, graced the occasion with their dashing presence.

Notably, baseball is mostly played in America and some selected parts of Asia.

When the Yankees and Red Sox traveled to London to play baseball, the royal couple could not resist but made their graceful presence in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the clubhouses of both teams.

Per Fox News, the Duchess of Sussex and Britain’s Prince also had one-to-one interactions with some players from both teams. The two also conversed with the then-Yankees ace, CC Sabathia, and the Red Sox pitcher, Chris Sale, during the ceremonial first pitch.

Since Prince Harry and Meghan had recently become parents to their newborn son, Archie, the New York Yankees, and the Red Sox, gifted them onesies to the royal couple.

Even though baseball is not a popular sport in Britain, the first two games witnessed stadium-packed spectators in attendance, almost 60,000 in a game.

If not for the first half of the 2022 MLB season, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are having an average season this year. But since the Pinstripes had a remarkable first half, they are still at the top in their division. And if things do not go south anymore, they are most likely to win the AL East.

On the other hand, the Red Sox season is over. The Alex Cora-led team has been one of the biggest disappointments this season. Currently, they are at the bottom of the AL East.
