Someone does not get nicknames like The Machine without putting some extra effort into what they do. Former baseball player of the St. Louis Cardinals, Albert Pujols, certainly did have what it takes to be called “The Machine.” Already considered one of the greatest baseball players of all time, Pujols, hung up his cleats after putting in twenty-two years of his life as a professional ballplayer of Major League Baseball. The former athlete did wonders in his last season as a ballplayer. 

And yesterday, the Cardinals legend celebrated his 43rd year on Earth. And to celebrate the big day, one of his kids came forward to wish him publicly. But other than one of his children, his new-found love interest also wished him.

The Machine’s impeccable skills on the diamond have turned millions of people into his fans. Whereas his personal life was a mystery until Pujols came forward and filed for divorce in early 2022. While putting on a hall-of-fame-worthy career to rest, Pujols also moved on from his marriage. The former athlete is currently dating Nicole Fernandez. She is the daughter of the former president of the Dominican Republic.

Everybody has their own way of showing affection. Therefore, when the time came for the Machine’s birthday, his son, Albert Pujols Jr, and love interest, Fernandez, put on stories on their Instagram profiles to wish him a happy birthday. Pujols Jr put on a picture with his dad and wrote on it, “Happy birthday to my pops.” Whereas Fernandez put on a solo picture of her beau, smiling ear to ear, and wished him a happy birthday. 

Pujols Sr, the actual athlete Pujols, reposted his son’s story on his Instagram profile. Although it is unclear, it still is a significant possibility that the ex-athlete is enjoying his birthday either alone with his girlfriend or with her and the kids together.

Pujols, in his last season, hit his career’s 703rd home run with the St Louis Cardinals on October 3, 2022. By hitting that 703rd, he replaced Alex Rodriguez from the fourth place of the top players with the most home runs in their career.
