Albert Pujols is playing in the last year of his MLB career. But it makes no difference to him. He is living up to the reputation he created in his epic career since its initiation. He is in magnificent batting form, smashing home runs and rapidly moving towards a rare milestone.

Albert Pujols is a first baseman and designated hitter for the St. Louis Cardinals. He made his MLB debut with the Cardinals in 2001. After a glorious decade-long tenure, he played for the Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers, respectively. He returned to the Cardinals’ frame for his farewell MLB season. Pujols is an 11-time All-Star player and two-time World Series champion.

The most noteworthy of all achievements for Pujols is his 600+ career total home runs. Interestingly, he is inches away from the 700 home runs mark. He will only be the 4th player in the history of baseball to achieve the milestone. Award-winning sports broadcaster Bob Costas recently ushered immense praise on Pujols.

Emmy winner Bob Costas recently went loud in praise of Pujols. Costas is a 28-time Emmy honoree for his broadcasting services. He has interviewed many legendary sports people throughout his career, and Pujols is one of them. 

Costas was recently a guest speaker on Rich Eisen’s podcast. They both discussed Pujols’ exhilarating performances in his final MLB year. Both the analysts were in awe of the legendary batter.

Speaking about Pujols, Costas said, “Had most of his great seasons wearing a Cardinal uniform. I don’t know if that have any specific story. Other than the fact that you know, he wasn’t called ‘The Machine’ for nothing. He’s one of the great right-handed hitters. I don’t care, as difficult as that is to compare across.”

In rhythm with Costas, Eisen had some words to add, “But for Pujols to step to the plate in a pinch-hit role and what will be unless he does acquiesce and come back. His final at-bat against the Cubs. You can’t script it. What he is doing right now, it’s unreal.” The words from two baseball experts sum up the stellar value of Pujols’ presence.
