Even the Giants fall – Who knows this better than the San Francisco team? The perpetual toppers of the 2000s and 2010s have been far from that peak in recent years. The team that won three World Series between 2010 and 2014 hasn’t even sniffed at the title since. The Giants’ biggest issue lies in their shocking inability to attract free agents to their franchise.
The team has consistently courted major free agents but one way or the other, luck hasn’t ever favored them. It’s a rather tragic story of a team that just can’t close the deal.

December of 2022 was a tough time for the Giants. Their crowning year turned out to be a nightmare. The Bay Bombers had agreed to a $350 million deal with Carlos Correa but found a problem with his physicals and the deal collapsed. Then they were heavily linked with Aaron Judge, who ended up going back to the New York Yankees as captain. Finally, their star pitcher Carlos Rodón left to join the Bronx Bombers as well.
In the span of a few days, the Giants had gotten rejected by three different players. They entered 2023 to rectify those mistakes, before history started repeating itself.

Could Lee Jung-Hoo be the sign of a better time?
The Giants surprised everyone by getting Jung-hoo Lee because they seemingly were not even in the race for the ex-KBO MVP. But they came up with a $113 million offer for the young hitter who has the potential to turn things around for San Fran.
The Giants are quite heavily linked with the Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell as well. The Bay Bombers must rush. because even though the ace’s free agency has been silent, things could pick up soon.
