Last night, Major League Baseball’s sixth and San Francisco Giants’ first Mexico series ended. While the doubleheader between the Giants and the San Diego Padres was an incredibly interesting one, it became extra special for the Giants’ star shortstop, Brandon Crawford.

The Giants may have lost the series as the Padres swept them up. But the first international series for the Giants outside of the USA and Canada earned the slugger an iconic space in the National Baseball Hall of Fame quite a few years before he gets retired.

How did Brandon Crawford earn himself a place in HOF?

In game one of the Mexico Series, Crawford hit his fourth home run of the season. And it was also the first of the Giants’ Mexico Series wearing the Gigantes jerseys. Since it was the first moment of many to come, the home run by Crawford, was also the longest of the statcast era for the Giants (482 ft).

Notably, this iconic moment deserved recognition. Hence, Crawford’s Gigantes jersey will be getting a place in the National Hall of Fame. It is indeed a pretty special moment not only for Crawford but also for the entire San Francisco Giants team. Hence, while posting about this news on their Instagram handle, they wrote, “Brandon Crawford’s Gigantes jersey is headed to the Hall of Fame 🙌His home run yesterday was the first-ever in Mexico City, the first Giants homer hit outside of the US & Canada, and the longest of the statcast era for the Giants (482 ft). It will be the first Gigantes jersey at the Hall.”

They may not have won the series, but they surely managed to win the hearts of countless baseball fans with this indigenous achievement.

As soon as the SF Giants’ Instagram handle posted this news about Crawford, their fans started to show their excitement with any words they could muster up with. 

While calling Crawford the best, the fans wrote, “Best giants SS ever”, “I’m so glad a Giants legend has this honor!🧡🖤⚾️”, “Fitting tribute to an all time great Giant, and future Hall of Fame member.”, and “Wouldn’t want it to be anyone else!!🐐😮‍💨.”

Many of the fans think that this achievement has opened up the way for Crawford to get himself into the Hall of Fame when and if he does decides to get retired.
