The exhibition baseball team has taken over the baseball world with its fun twist on the national pastime. With a game that is losing followers at a rather alarming rate, founder Jesse Cole is trying to revive interest in baseball. But he has a different strategy than most – fans always come first. From dancing to backflipping, nothing is off-limits. The Bananas can do it all and they’re not afraid to show off. At a recent game at Grayson Stadium, David Ray was in the outfield. As soon as the batter hit the ball, players flocked around but only Ray had the privilege to catch it. But get this, he didn’t just throw out his mitted hands as any regular player would do.

No, that would be boring and then it wouldn’t be the Savannah Bananas. Ray did a backflip mid-catch and executed everything perfectly! The commentator yelled and the crowds roared because of course no one was expecting it. Call it risky if you will but it certainly made for an intriguing game.
