The New York Yankees Signature Series was a renowned card collection series by Upper Deck. Published in 2003, this series features around 87 greatest players? signed cards. However, there were three completely distant cards that never really had any connection to the Yankees, except for one.

Who Entered Secretly in the New York Yankees Signature Series?

New York Yankees Signature Series Cards were one of the most demanded autographed pieces among fans, but these card sets include a few famous actors who were never related to Yankees; more precisely, baseball. They are Hollywood actors: Jason Alexander and John Goodman. However, another one is connected to the Yankees, but can?t be called a Yankee legend?Brian Cashman. Cashman is the General Manager and President of the Yankees. These cards even have their ?Print Runs? on them. For Alexander, it is 50, while the remaining two have 100 each.

Mostly, fans were unaware of this issue until a Tweet recently revealed the fact with the last price, one of these cards sold for. According to the source, in 2018, the Jason Alexander Card was sold for $1,525 at an eBay auction. What is more shocking is that this comedian cum actor received the most value in its set. The current owner of these cards is unknown, but it thrills Yankees fans, and some even offer double the price to get these cards in their possession.

These are the Short-Printed cards with not more than 50 prints available. There have been no further sales reported for these cards since 2018. However, the last price for this celebrity actor card was shockingly high. While fans are ready to offer more if the current owner is willing to re-sell, some are confused about the reason behind these cards in the legend list.

Why were Actors Included in the Signature Series of New York Yankees?

When a series is named New York Yankees, what everyone expects is to have the Yankee legends in the sets, but Upper Deck has twisted it a bit by adding a few Short-Printed Cards of actors and the Yankees General Manager. Well, though this comedian actor seems to have no connection with the Yankees, he had played as a worker is the New York Yankees? Front Office in ?Seinfeld.?

Similarly, John Goodman also portrayed the character of Babe Ruth in his autobiographical movie ‘The Babe’. Babe Ruth initially played for the Boston Red Sox?but achieved the biggest awards for the Yankees. So, apparently, these actors have no connection with the team in real life, but they have been part of it in films.
