About a fortnight ago, Dave Roberts playfully took a jab at the media, analysts, and MLB fans who’ve been saying that the Dodgers’ big spending is ruining the spirit of the game. “Let’s get four more wins and really ruin baseball.” It might’ve rubbed some fans the wrong way, but Dave Roberts eventually got his message across. Meanwhile, his two-way star Shohei Ohtani never even took a minute to enjoy any win throughout this season. In every postgame interview, he’s emphasized focusing on the next game, the classic “job’s not done” mentality. Even after the season’s last win, his mindset still remains the same.

“Hello, hello. I want to say that I’m so proud of this team, and I want to say that you guys are the greatest fans in the world. I’m ready to get another ring next year. Let’s go!” He said.

As if he hadn’t done it already, Shohei Ohtani just won over his fans all over again. The Japanese-born star, often hailed as one of the greatest baseball players of all time, is rarely seen without his trusted interpreter. No matter if it’s on the sidelines or during postgame interviews, you’d always find a translator on his side.

Ohtani’s standout moment in the 2025 World Series came in Game 3. That night, he went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two homers in an 18-inning thriller that ended with a Freddie Freeman walk-off blast.

And after Mookie Betts turned an Alejandro Kirk grounder into a game-ending double play in the 11th inning of Game 7, the Dodgers were celebrating once again. Ohtani, though, believes that same feeling will return next October.

While most MLB fans had their eyes glued to Japanese stars Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, it was Mookie Betts who delivered the moment of the night in Game 7.

With the Blue Jays’ Alejandro Kirk at bat, Betts fielded a grounder at shortstop. He sprinted to second for the out and fired a laser to first to complete a game-ending double play. He helped the Dodgers seal the second straight World Series title.

The clip of the play quickly went viral. It drew reactions from across the sports world, including LeBron James, who shared an Instagram story with Betts’ face edited onto the famous Michael Jordan meme. The one where he’s flashing his championship rings.

For Betts, this marks his fourth ring and a defining highlight of his career. In case there were ever any doubts about Mookie Betts’ Hall of Fame future, those are erased for good.

Though he had a shaky run at the plate this Fall Classic, his defense at shortstop was nothing short of elite. After all, it earned him a Gold Glove finalist spot in his very first full season playing the position.
