‘Should Be Mad at Their Fathers for Making Them Mets Fans’- NY Yankees Fans Wreck ‘Poverty Franchise’ Mets After Subway Series Sweep

Published 08/24/2022, 12:00 PM EDT

The NY Yankees are hands down the most victorious franchise in Major League Baseball. With 27 World Series Titles, 40 American League Pennants, and 20 AL East Division Titles, the New York Yankees are leading all four Major League sports across North America. However, with success comes arrogance, and such seems to be the case for some of the Pinstripe fans.

After starting the 2022 season positively, the Yanks lost 6 straight series. Consequently, experts, critics, and fans had their guns ready for the Yankees team and management. From firing Boone to Cashman and Steinbrenner, their demands seemed justified. However, after beating their long-time rivals, NY Mets, all looks to be forgotten.

What did the NY Yankees fans have to say about the Subway Series victory over the Mets?

The Subway Series kicked off on August 23rd. Subsequently, the Yankees clean swept the Mets by beating them 4-2 in both the games and clinching the series 2-0. Fans of the pinstripes reached the streets of New York after winning the Subway Series and climbed all over any Mets fans.

While insulting the Mets, they said, “They should be mad at their fathers for making them Mets fans.” Being teams from the same city, their rivalry has been the talk of the Subway. Ather fan said, “They’re just our little brother.” They also called the Mets a “poverty franchise,” and concluded by saying “The Yankees run New York.”

Comedically, they shared the opinions of ESPN pundit, Stephen A. Smith, who shared a video while the Yanks were facing a victory drought. He said, “I’m worried about the Mets because I’m a Yankee fan. And let me tell you what can’t happen to New York City. If you want to keep your job, the Mets can’t be in the World Series and the Yankees’ home.”

What’s next for the Yanks?

The NY Yankees are currently at the top of the AL East points table with 76 wins and 48 losses at 0.613. Aaron Judge is sitting comfortably at the top of the home runs list with 48 home runs. His splendid form, along with some quality pitching is the reason behind the Yankees’ success this season. Nevertheless, beating the Mets isn’t winning the World Series and, more importantly, overconfidence shouldn’t trump the fact that they lost 6 straight series.
