“Something Special”: Aaron Judge Gives Credit Where Credit Is Due; Hails Juan Soto for Heroics Against Astros

Juan Soto continues to make fans out of his teammates. From the young ones to the veterans, the New York Yankees clubhouse can’t get enough of this Dominican superstar. However, one can’t deny that Soto’s heroics deserve such treatment. From leading the Yankees’ offense in nearly every field to coming in clutch during difficult situations. Soto has been doing it all and that has led to Aaron Judge tipping his hat for the 25-year-old.
On April 8, the Yankees completed another rout of the Houston Astros. However, it was Soto’s huge 440-foot rocket that set off that 9-4 rout. After the Astros’ Kyle Tucker hit his second home run in two days, suddenly the Yankees were forced to play catch up from the very first inning. But Soto didn’t let that situation play out for too long. The slugger’s two-run, opposite-field homer immediately put the Yankees in the lead. That highly impressed Judge.
“That was impressive. Tucker’s been swinging two back-to-back games with homers here,” Aaron Judge said in his postgame interview, adding. “And (for) Soto to answer that with a two-run homer, man, he got us started tonight.” However, All Rise wasn’t done with his praises just yet. The superstar noted how Soto’s sheer presence is a signal of something special happening in the field.

“It’s incredible, I said earlier, it’s just you know something special is going to happen,” Judge said as he continued, “You just don’t know when it is. Is it going to be on the first pitch like he did today in the first at-bat or is it going to be at a seven-eight pitch at-bat?” Even though Soto’s work impressed Judge, the captain too had a great game.
In fact, the recent form of Judge shows that he might be crawling back to his best. More importantly, this game gave a preview of something that the entire Yankee Nation was waiting for.

Ever since Juan Soto joined the Pinstripes, everyone waited to see all three of their heavy hitters simultaneously annihilate a defense. However, until now, that hadn’t been the case. While Soto and Judge, or Soto and Giancarlo Stanton have hit homers in the same game, this was the first time all three of them did it in the same one. If that is the sign of things to come, the rivals have a lot to be nervous about. The New York Yankees’ hitting staff is finally clicking.
As a result, Aaron Judge echoed the words of the entire fanbase. “I hope (there’s more). It means good things are happening and the Yankees are winning,” the captain said. Judge, Soto, and Stanton have hit 25 home runs between them this season. Soto’s on top with 9 with Judge and Stanton at 8. Now, with all of them hitting on all cylinders at the same time, just how high this number will go?
