Sports Illustrated Top Models Take Over New York Mets’ Citi Field For Special Reason

Major League Baseball is running with its full forces. It has not been even two months and the game of baseball has already witnessed some of the best games of the season. From the rise of the New York Mets to the resurgence of the New York Yankees, the 2022 season has been a classic for baseball fans.

However, a recent game between the New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals witnessed something beyond the game of baseball. Yes! The famous SI Swimsuit models paid a visit for the Cardinals vs Mets game for a special reason and took over the Citi Field with their glamorous presence.

The cover stars of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2022, Yumi Lu, Brooks Nader, and Cindy Kimberly, did the honor of throwing the first pitch of the game and entertained the fans in the stadium.

SI Swimsuit Models brought luck to the New York Mets

Right from the start of the 2022 season, the New York Mets have been suffering from the injuries of their key players. And despite that, the Buck Showalter-led team has been playing top-level games against every opponent.

First, they lost their ace, Jacob deGrom.  And now, the Mets also lost their veteran pitcher Max Scherzer for a couple of months. However, to lighten the mood of the Mets players and fans, the SI Swimsuit models visited the ballpark and brought joy to everyone’s faces.

Notably, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit released the 2022 issue of their magazine on May 16. And to promote their magazine, all models paid their visit to the Citi Field. 

Taking to Twitter, the Mets shared a video of the same. In the video, one can see the models throwing the first pitch and interacting with players. They also signed some photographs and baseball for the Mets.

Meanwhile, coming to the 2022 season, the Mets remain the only MLB side not to lose a single series this season, that too after missing out on their key players. Under the guidance of their visionary manager, Buck Showalter, the Mets are completely a different team.

And if things go their way, the Buck Showalter-led team might end up having their hands on the silverware.
