New York Mets manager Buck Showalter calls Steve Cohen a good owner

Mets fans have been treated to some poor baseball this year. Furthermore, there is growing pressure as the team has a real chance of missing the postseason. But despite the increasing pressure, skipper Buck Showalter recently defended Mets owner Steve Cohen. He said Cohen is a great owner and works hard to make the team better, even working behind the scenes. Furthermore, he mentioned that the billionaire is extremely competitive and frustrated with the current form. SNY shared a video of the interview on Twitter.

During the interview, Showalter said this about Cohen, “He’s been great. I mean, very supportive, I couldn’t ask for a better owner. He gets involved in obviously whatever he wants to. You know, think about how much the Mets mean to him. And, there’s so many things he does behind the scenes, not for anybody to notice.” He further said, “He’s always looked at it like it’s the fan’s organization. He’s frustrated, very competitive man, trust me, very competitive.”
