Subway Series Takes a Wild Turn as Fans Clash in a Bizarre Incident

The New York Yankees and New York Mets have a long-standing legendary rivalry. The two teams have the most enormous and fierce fan base. Whenever both teams face each other, thousands of fans attend the game, and often, their intense rivalry becomes a brawl. Similar was the case when the two teams met for the Subway Series on Thursday.

Mets and Yankees fans have often fought on the field. But the heated rivalry has gotten intense this season. Earlier, during a Mets and Red Sox match, fans of both teams shouted ”Yankees Suck.” However, in a recent game, Yankees and Mets fans were seen throwing ice cream and sauce at each other. 

Yankess Fans Create Wildness in the Stadium

The Yankees and Mets just faced each other for the Subway series. In the fierce fights, Mets defeated the Yankees by 3-2. The loss was difficult for the Yankees fans, and they took on the Mets fans in other ways, resulting in a brawl. A video shared by a Twitter user, Emily Nyman, shows how the Yankees fans bullied the Mets fans.

First, a Yankees fan spilled ice cream on the head of the young Mets fans, and till that point, the innocent Mets fan did not notice what was coming next for him.

The Yankees fan next poured the BBQ sauce onto the hair of the poor Mets fan. It was too late when he noticed what was actually happening to him. In an attempt at getting rid of the sauce, it ended up spilling onto the shirt of another Yankees fan, which made them angry at the person responsible.

This is not the first time the Yankees and Mets fans teased each other. Both teams have a long-standing rivalry, and on most occasions, they get into brawls. 

A Subway Series Filled with Several Potential Brawl Incidents

During Game 1 of the Subway Series on Wednesday, there were multiple incidents of Mets hitters being hit by pitches. Mark Vientos was the first to be hit in the wrist by Albert Abreu at the top of the ninth inning. Later on, another pitch from Abreu hit Francisco Alvarez in the hand. Nonetheless, it was ruled a strikeout.

Additionally, tensions escalated further when the Yankees’ Carlos Rodon hit the Mets’ Jeff McNeil in the back.

Although the Subway Series started with multiple potential brawls, the Mets cliched a 6-3 win over the Yankees.

The Yankees and Mets are among the best team in MLB. Although they have a fierce rivalry, it has also given popularity to the teams. The fans of both teams are very dedicated and show their love to the teams on every occasion.
