Aaron Judge recently achieved a unique feat in baseball. He broke a record that stood tall for 61 years in the American League. After a long grind, he finally reached the milestone on Tuesday night. And Yankees fans, who eagerly anticipated the record, made a generous move to thank their opponents.

Aaron Judge displayed glimpses of a batting virtuoso upon entering MLB. He made his debut for the New York Yankees as an outfielder in 2016. Since then, he has continued to make rapid progress in building up a grand sporting legacy. Remarkably, the four-time All-Star Judge is now also a frontrunner for the American League MVP Award.

Judge, the modern ‘Home Run King’ now sits on his throne as the American League’s highest seasonal home run scorer. He smashed his 62nd seasonal home run against the Texas Rangers in Tuesday night’s game. While he mounted on that individual tally, he surpassed the legendary Roger Maris. As the Rangers played the game in the true spirit, the Yankees fans felt touched at heart.

Aaron Judge’s rivals won his fans’ hearts

Aaron Judge tied Roger Maris’ previous best of 61 seasonal home runs against the Toronto Blue Jays. Judge was then the American League’s joint-highest seasonal home run scorer. So the entire baseball community, and especially Yankees supporters, eagerly anticipated Judge’s record-breaking smash. But he had to wait more than a week to rewrite baseball history.

The Baltimore Orioles’ pitchers applied cunning defensive tactics by intentionally walking Judge. A trick that many opposition teams repeatedly utilized against him throughout the season. The fans began to get more frustrated than even the champion slugger himself. But there were no such trickeries from the Rangers’ unit as Judge smashed a legal pitch for his milestone.

The Yankees’ fans were grateful to the point that they decided to donate to the Rangers Foundation. The fans talked about making donations worth either ’99’ for Judge’s jersey or ’62’ for the home run. However, donations of ’62’ reportedly turned out to be the most common theme.
