Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts have had the limelight shine on them brightly because of their performance. Rightfully so, but, there is another player without whom the LA team might not have made it so far — and it’s Teoscar Hernandez. While Freeman, Betts, and some of the rest missed the regular season games, Hernandez was there to carry the team forward. It hasn’t been an easy ride for Hernandez; he watched players like Ohtani sign huge contracts while he got a ‘prove-it’ contract for a year.

However, Teoscar Hernandez has proved himself – he set a career-high of 33 home runs, and even now, Spotrac projects him to sign a three-year contract of $71 million next. But it might not be with the Dodgers – recently, during the team’s celebratory parade, Hernandez took over the mic to share his thoughts on the season. But the emotion behind it is what made it seem like he might be headed to another team.

Teoscar Hernandez breaks down in tears

The LA Dodgers celebrated this huge win, their eighth World Series title, with a parade. They didn’t get to do it for years, getting an opportunity for the first time since the 80s. It was an enormous deal, and Hernandez was there present to give his thanks to the city and the Dodgers organization for everything so far “I just want to say thank you. Play this game to win. The Dodgers gave me an opportunity to come here so I can help this organization, this city, this team, and these people win a championship. You guys have made this dream come true. Thank you for making me a world champion,” said Teoscar Hernandez as he wiped away tears.

Clearly, with free agency looming, emotions are getting heightened. The fans were as emotional as Hernandez about their star getting teared up, of them mentioned, “I would be lying if I said I didn’t shed a few tears during his speech. Dodgers baby!!!!.” Clearly, the team’s supporters want him back, but nothing is certain as of yet; although, Hernandez sure hopes to be with the LA Dodgers.

Hernandez wants a future with the Blue crew

Earning a World Series ring in his first season with the blue crew, Enrique is more than thrilled to be with the team. And he’s made up his mind about free agency, even before hearing a single offer from a team. Teoscar Hernandez told ESPN, The Dodgers will be my priority in free agency. I will do whatever is possible to return. It’s not in my hands, but if it were, I’d pick them.” While being forthcoming might do little to give him leverage, his clutch performance sure does speak for themselves.

Originally bought to bolster a shaky left field, Hernandez did that and more for the team. He has had some standout performances in the World Series itself; his two-run homer in Game 2, then a pinpoint throw in Game 3, then, a game-tying RBI in Game 5 that helped the LA Dodgers’ fifth-inning rally. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays were apparently looking toward Hernandez for their lineup; it’s going to be square one for them if that’s the case.
