One small gesture can change a baseball fan’s life. Most recently, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. did just this by gifting a bat to a cancer-surviving fan. During the Blue Jays’ recent game against the Baltimore Orioles, he noticed a fan holding up a sign that mentioned he had beaten cancer. During the game, he asked a Blue Jays staff member to give the young fan his bat as a gift. The Blue Jays shared a video of the moment and a picture of the fans’ sign on Twitter.

In a Tweet, they said, “The young fan’s “I beat cancer” sign caught Vladdy’s eye. Vladdy made his day”. In the video, you can see Guerrero Jr. point to the fan while giving instructions. The young boy seemed ecstatic after receiving his gift, a true once-in-a-lifetime moment.

This was truly a kind thing for the superstar to do. The Blue Jays’ infielder has been in great form this season but seems to be in a minor slump at the moment. Fans have cheered him on for wanting to be a Blue Jay for life. But the team is struggling at the moment.

The Toronto Blue Jays have lost 2 series in a row against division rivals

The Blue Jays lost a second consecutive game against the Orioles. This puts them 2-0 down in the three-game series and no way to win it. Furthermore, it is the second consecutive series loss against a division rival after losing to the New York Yankees. The Blue Jays are in a difficult position, but only time will tell where they end up at the end of the season.
