In an interview with CNN, Derek Jeter got asked if he feels scared thinking about life post-retirement from his playing career. He explained how he wasn’t sure about the scary aspects, as he intended to be involved with the sport by being a team owner.?

Jeter said in the interview, “You know, I don’t know if there is anything scary about it. I’m pretty sure I will be involved in the game in some facet, you know. I wanna own a team someday, you know. That’s my next goal.”? ?

When asked if Jeter would prefer buying his own team, the Yankees, in the future, he jokingly told the reporter, “It’s too expensive, unless you give me some of your money.” But Jeter did point out late Yankees’ owner and father figure George Steinbrenner as his idol to organize a team. The Yankees achieved enormous sporting success under Steinbrenner’s direction. So Jeter dreamed of walking in Steinbrenner’s shoes.?
