Two New York greats started their career in New York and concluded their career in New York. Shortstop and five-time World Champion Derek Jeter made his New York Yankees debut in 1995. He became their captain in 2003 and retired in 2014. On the other hand, quarterback and two-time Super Bowl Champion, Eli Manning, made his New York Giants debut in 2004. And he retired after 15 years, in 2019.

Manning continued to talk about the idea of replacing Jeter in New York. And he said, “You can’t replace him, and that’s not my job. My job is to try to win games for the Giants. And learn from the things Derek’s done well and the way he’s conducted himself. And he’ll always be a role model for me.”
