In the 2022 season, one player stood out above the rest, cementing his place in history as one of the greatest sluggers of this generation. With a record-breaking 62 home runs, Aaron Judge has shown that he has what it takes to be among the best.

And who knows, with 9 more years left in his contract, he may just have what it takes to break Barry Bonds’ single-season record. The anticipation is building as the world waits to see if Judge will take his place at the top of the home run leaderboard this year as well.

The people at Fangraphs have released their projections of the top home run hitters of the year. It’s no surprise that the reigning AL MVP, Aaron Judge, is at the top of the list. 

According to MLB.com, with a historic 62-homer season under his belt, he’s the only slugger projected to hit 40-plus home runs in 2023. Following him, Mike Trout is hot on his heels with a projected 39 home runs. Fernando Tatis Jr. isn’t far behind with 35 home runs.

The prediction has sent Twitter into a frenzy. With fans debating and making their own assumptions about who will rise to the top. 

Many are wondering why Ronald Acuna Jr. is not on the list, as his performance at the plate was great last season.
