“The American Dream”- Reports of Aaron Judge’s Historic Home Run Ball Auctioned by Man Who Rejected $3 Million Offer Bewilders MLB Fans

Aaron Judge enjoyed an MLB season decorated with a garland of home runs this year. One home run in particular was a golden shot at MLB history. And the man who caught that ball in the stands kept the memorabilia with him turning down a $3 million offer. However, that man has now recently decided to auction the ball, shocking MLB fans worldwide.

Judge smashed his way to mounting up 62 seasonal home runs this year. While doing so, he broke the previous record of the highest seasonal home run count in the American League. It was at a New York Yankees vs Texas Rangers game that Judge achieved his milestone. The two teams were facing off against each other at Globe Life Field.

A fan by the name of Cory Youmans caught the 62nd home run ball flying off Judge’s bat. Youmans gained much popularity in the MLB circuit after catching the ball. At the time, the common query on everyone’s mind was whether Youmans will ever sell the prized memorabilia. And now, since Youmans has suddenly decided to auction the ball, MLB fans have put out their opinions. 

Aaron Judge’s historic shot heads to auction 

Cory Youmans had initially cast doubts about handing the souvenir to Aaron Judge. Managing an investment firm, Youmans administers the role of the Vice President of Fisher Investments. Youmans and his wife Bri Amaranthus, who is a reporter at Sports Illustrated magazine, have decided to opt for auction. After rejecting a $3 million offer, Youmans has tied up with Goldin Auctions House to sell the ball.

B/R Walk-Off network posted the news on their official Twitter account quoting, “The fan that caught Judge’s 62nd home run ball is taking the ball to auction after turning down a $3M offer.” 

A fan replied, quoting, “The American dream.” 

Another fan wrote, “Isn’t the dude like super rich already?”  

One more fan wrote, “He isn’t going to get that at auction especially after all the auction fees, but whatevs, it’s not me or my money. Good luck.”

Therefore, most people don’t anticipate Youmans making too much money from the auction.

But Youmans also must already be aware of the same fact, and so isn’t much worried. 

Aaron Judge: MLB career to date and his potential future 

Judge made his MLB entry as the Yankees outfielder in 2016 and rapidly rose to iconic status. The four-time All-Star Judge led the batting charts in all categories this season, making contention for the league MVP Award. However, his term contract with the Yankees has also expired this year. So, there is much speculation over his MLB future with teams like the San Francisco Giants, showing their interest.
