The Nationals introduce a new patriotic home run celebration

Although the Nationals are struggling to win games in the NL East, their new home run celebration has impressed fans. The team broke out their new celebration against the Chicago Cubs in their most recent game. Nationals outfielder Lan Thomas smashed a home run against the Cubs before proceeding to put on a white powdered wig and wave a small American flag while running down the dugout. This is in honor of the USA’s history and is a patriotic home run celebration. The Nationals shared a video highlighting their new home run festivity.

In a Tweet, they said, “*Star-Spangled Banner intensifies*”. This is an apt celebration for the team based in USA’s capital. It brings some fun and creativity to a Nationals team that is losing a lot of games.
