Why did Constantine Scurtis sue Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez?

Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez married Cynthia Scurtis in 2002. Eventually, they got divorced in 2008, as Cynthia cited emotional abandonment. In 2014, Constantine Scurtis filed a primary complaint against A-Rod. Later in 2015, Scurtis brought 13 cases worth $100 million against A-Rod.

While Scurtis maintained that he never wanted to take such drastic measures, he had to do what was right. He said, “This is the last thing in the world I want to do. I have a very positive career going on right now. It’s not good to be involved in litigation in the business I’m in. I’m not trying to draw attention to myself. But what’s right is right.”

In the lawsuit, A-Rod was accused of fraud, civil conspiracy, violation of contract, breach of fiduciary responsibility, unjust enrichment, and tortious interference, amongst others.

However, in 2015 itself, a Miami-Dade circuit court judge dismissed all the 13 lawsuits against A-Rod. In 2019, megastar Jennifer Lopez and A-Rod announced their engagement as well. However, their engagement broke off in 2021. Today, according to Cosmopolitan, he is dating Kathryne Padgett.
