While Scurtis maintained that he never wanted to take such drastic measures, he had to do what was right. He said, “This is the last thing in the world I want to do. I have a very positive career going on right now. It’s not good to be involved in litigation in the business I’m in. I’m not trying to draw attention to myself. But what’s right is right.”

In the lawsuit, A-Rod was accused of fraud, civil conspiracy, violation of contract, breach of fiduciary responsibility, unjust enrichment, and tortious interference, amongst others.

On the other hand, A-Rod denied all the rumors and accused Scurtis of embezzling money from their joint fund. However, in 2015 itself, a Miami-Dade circuit court judge dismissed all the 13 lawsuits against A-Rod. This expensive and outlandish lawsuit spelled the end of A-Rod and Constantine Scurtis’s relationship.
