3X MLB All-Star Brutally Ridicules Sam Smith’s Satanic Grammy Performance After It Goes Viral

Former Phillies slugger Lenny Dykstra is speaking out on Twitter yet again. The controversial ex-baseballer retired in 1996 but has been lately active on social media. Dykstra often shares his opinion on world topics or pop culture and is known for his conservative takes on the industry. This time, he’s attacking Grammy winners Sam Smith and Kim Petras for their performance at the 2023 award ceremony.

The two musicians won the Grammy for their hit song ‘Unholy’ on 6th Feb. and performed a rendition later in the night. The song has been immensely well-received ever since its release in September 2022. Smith and Petras performed a fiery rendition of the racy song, which covers some suggestive themes. And that might be the reason why Dykstra took offense and took a shot at their performance.

The ‘Unholy’ collaborators literally set the stage on fire when they sang the duet on the Grammy’s stage. Starting out in red leather, the performance slowly progressed with cage dancing, devil-horned headgear, and latex outfits. No wonder, then, that Dykstra took offense to what seemed like a radical performance, even in 2023. The former Mets player quoted an article in his tweet that mocked the two singers. And that article came from none other than a fake-news website.

The Gateway Pundit is a far-right news portal that primarily publishes hoaxes, false news pieces, and conspiracy theories. Dykstra quoted a few lines from their article, “The Satanic performance of the 2022 hit song Unholy by Sam Smith and transgender singer Kim Petras (‘Mummy don’t know Daddy’s getting hot, At the Body Shop, doing something unholy’) … a promo that said the Grammy Awards show was sponsored by Pfizer.”

Ironically, Pfizer is a pharmaceutical company that has divided people on its take on the COVID-19 vaccine. A stance that conservatives and radicals like to exploit equally.

This wasn’t the first time Dykstra has criticized something out of the blue

Monica Lewinsky may be an activist and writer now, but she’s still famous for her part in the Lewinsky-Clinton scandal. In 2021, Uber Facts on Twitter asked, “What’s the most high-risk, low-reward thing you’ve ever done? 💭” To which Lewinsky replied with just an eye emoji, which then went viral on Twitter.

Dykstra, of course, again had an opinion about it. The former White House intern has added her pronouns to her Twitter handle to support the transgender community. And the 59-year-old promptly pointed it out in his tweet. “Make no mistake, ‘she/her’ loves the attention, even now,” he said.
