All baseball stars dream of reaching major milestones. As these moments do not come around often, it is nothing but a delight for MLB players when they achieve something big. Most recently, Boston Red Sox pitcher Kenley Jansen achieved a major milestone. His teammates prepared a special gift to celebrate that massive career moment. Furthermore, the gift was personalized to his interests.

This season has been a decent start for the Red Sox as they sit third in the AL East. Many predicted that the team would have a rough season similar to last year. But there have been many positives thus far. Jensen’s recent milestone and his teammates’ special gift are one of them. 

Kenley Jansen receives a personalized bass guitar after reaching 400 saves

Relief pitching is one of the most difficult jobs in baseball. These pitchers are often put in difficult positions where they have to adjust and stabilize difficult situations. Furthermore, getting a save in a game is a big deal. Most recently, Red Sox reliever Kenley Jansen reached 400 career saves, a massive milestone in his career. His teammates celebrated the moment by gifting him a personalized bass guitar. Jansen is an avid bass player. Twitter user MLB Life shared the story.

In a Tweet, they said, “Red Sox players gifted Kenley Jansen—an avid bass player—a customized bass guitar to commemorate his 400th save.: This was a big moment for the Red Sox reliever as he becomes just the 7th pitcher to reach 400 saves. Furthermore, the gift was a nice touch to help Jansen celebrate the moment.

He has been incredible to start the season, playing 12 games and picking up 9 saves. Furthermore, Jansen has only allowed 1 run in those games. The Red Sox will need his expert pitching to continue building momentum. He joined the Boston-based team this year and started strongly. But he is not the only new player to do so. 

Masataka Yoshida has surpassed expectations this season

Many experts criticized the Red Sox’s offseason moves, especially when 3 of their former stars reunited in Spring Training. This includes the $90 million deal to sign Masataka Yoshida. But the Japanese outfielder has proven himself thus far. Yoshida has quickly acclimatized himself to MLB and is showing off some outstanding performances. His batting skills in particular have been on full display, and he ended April with several good performances. Yoshida and Kenley Jansen are just two of the massive positive’s for the Red Sox as they begin this season on a high note, aiming for the playoffs.
