A New York Yankees vs. the Boston Red Sox game is something that no fan wants to miss. After all,?theirs is a storied rivalry?that has spanned decades. While 1901 may have been the year the feud officially started, 2023 will be another one for the history books.

The Red Sox have faced their troubles this season, but many fans are fed up with the Yankees. In addition to the players, they’re especially furious with the front office. Aaron Boone, Hal Steinbrenner, and Brian Cashman have all come under fire recently. The team’s failure to perform well in their captain’s absence has incensed fans. While Aaron Judge recovers from a toe injury, the Bronx Bombers seem to be in a funk. Although their latest series against Boston broke new records, not necessarily the ones fans wanted to see.

The Boston Red Sox have not swept the New York Yankees since 2006

That’s right, the last time a sweep occurred against the Yankees by their archrivals was 17 years ago. The likes of Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez were on the roster, whose ALCS defeat at the hands of Boston in 2004 was still fresh. The Bronx has changed significantly since then, although of course similarities remain. Brian Cashman is still the GM and the Steinbrenner family still owns the team, something that doesn’t make fans happy at all.

Sunday Night Baseball is a sacred tradition for many families. But Alex Cora thinks the same teams two weeks in a row would make anyone lose interest. This Sunday may have been the Yankees vs the Red Sox at Fenway Park, but the two teams also played each other last weekend at Yankee Stadium.

?Back-to-back Sunday night games? With all the respect to ESPN, come on,? Cora said. MLB is not composed of two teams and, however famous they may be, fans want to watch other franchises too, especially on Father’s Day. “Back-to-back weekends, you?re probably gonna do something else with your parents with your family, you know, because you just saw it last weekend,? said the Red Sox manager regarding the same.
