Becoming an athlete on the big stage isn’t an easy task. Most have a strong support system in their families and Aaron Judge is no different. Adopted at just a few days old, Judge found out about the circumstances of his childhood at 10 or 11 years old. He has always felt blessed at being chosen as the son of Patty and Wayne Judge, something he never takes for granted.

The New York Yankees captain has never shied away from expressing gratitude toward all his parents have done for him, especially his mom. From rocking custom pink cleats to pink socks, Judge never misses out on the chance to accessorize his uniform on Mother’s Day. His choices may be limited but All-Rise somehow makes it work. And this Mother’s Day, he had a special message to share.

Aaron Judge can’t thank his mother enough for everything

Judge considers himself one of the lucky ones. Always outspoken about love, he recently shared a heartfelt message to thank his mom on this special day. “I got a lot of stories about my mom and how she’s helped me get to this journey, from calling time at a T-ball game to come and tie my shoe to make sure I didn’t trip around the bases. To the countless hours they spent driving me to football camps, baseball camps, basketball camps,” he said in an emotional message. “Being my coach in Little League, helping me out there to always supporting me when I was in college, showing up on the weekends for all my games in college.”

Like most parents, Patty Judge did everything she could to support her son’s dreams. Choosing a career as a ballplayer isn’t easy but she believed in Judge’s talents, and he’s grateful for everything.

He continued in the video, “The list goes on and on but my mom was always there with me every step of the way. Always a good sounding board when things were going great, things were going bad. Somebody I could always talk to; she would listen and always just give me great advice, always be someone in my corner.”
