They?ve got a number of key deals across the line but have missed out on some as well. Following the failed Carlos Correa deal, the Mets have most recently signed a player that fans aren?t very happy with. Furthermore, this MLB veteran has had some controversy surrounding him over the last couple of years.

The New York Mets have agreed on a 1-year deal with veteran outfielder Tommy Pham, who last played for the Boston Red Sox. Fox Sports: MLB shared the news via Twitter, crediting Andy Martino of SNY for breaking the news. In the Tweet, Fox Sports: MLB confirmed that the Mets and Pham had agreed on a deal. But physicals are still pending and the deal will hinge on that.

In the Tweet, Fox Sports: MLB said, ?Tommy Pham and the Mets have agreed to a deal, pending physical per @martinonyc?. Pham once got into a conflict with Joc Pederson over fantasy football rules and punched him. An incident that has left a mark on fans’ impression of him.

These reactions from fans are justified as they expected an All-Star-level talent and they got Pham instead. Tommy Pham has built a reputation as a solid batter and will bring experience to the roster. Furthermore, the deal is a low-risk deal, and according to mlb.com?s Anthony DiComo is only worth $6 million. Additionally, the Mets have already added a lot of quality to their roster this off-season.

Although Carlos Correa ended up signing with the Minnesota Twins, the Mets have made a lot of other great signings. They signed star pitcher Justin Verlander in what was a great move. Furthermore, they have brought back key pieces in star reliever Edward Diaz and outfielder Brandon Nimmo.
