It was only a matter of time. Clayton Kershaw is now part of an elite club. He is just the 20th pitcher ever to notch 3,000 career strikeouts. For a pitcher whose career has been defined by precision and poise, this achievement is well fitting. But while the number itself is historic, the way it is being commemorated is quite special as well.

So, Topps Now, known for capturing the most iconic baseball moments in real-time, has unveiled a tribute befitting Kershaw’s greatness. It’s a 1-of-1 trading card featuring the original MLB Logoman taken directly from a game-worn Kershaw jersey. And the best part? You won’t have to bid thousands at auction to chase it. But there’s a catch.

The card could be with any lucky collector. But how to get it?

Well, any fan who grabs the Topps Now base card could end up receiving this special card. A one-of-a-kind card featuring a game-worn MLB Logoman patch from Kershaw’s jersey, which he wore during the very game where he hit that amazing milestone. Whoever gets this 1/1 card, it’s going to be a treasured keepsake for years to come. That’s quite a unique way to honor the achievement, isn’t it? And why not?

Notably, Kershaw is the first to hit the 3000 Ks milestone since Max Scherzer did it in 2021. And right now, Kershaw, Scherzer, and Justin Verlander are the only active pitchers with 3,000-plus strikeouts. We have seen how most guys who reach that number end up in the Hall of Fame. So, Kershaw might also be on his way to Cooperstown once he’s eligible. For now though, he’s chasing more milestones.

Already a 10x All-Star, a 3x NL Cy Young winner, and an NL MVP, Kershaw added a second World Series ring to his resume last season. Now this year, he’s off to a solid start with a 4-0 record, a 3.43 ERA, and a 1.25 WHIP.

The 37-year-old actually had a shaky beginning to the season, putting up a 5.17 ERA over his first four outings, but he’s bounced back nicely, posting a 2.28 ERA over five starts last month. And his comeback is now etched in history.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Clayton Kershaw the greatest pitcher of our generation, or does someone else take that crown?

Kershaw is back in the Dodgers’ Bobblehead nights

The coveted achievement has changed a few things for Kershaw. If you remember, when the Dodgers first released their 2025 giveaway schedule, Kershaw wasn’t included in the lineup of 21 planned bobblehead nights at Dodger Stadium. The initial list featured names like Blake Snell, Roki Sasaki, Tommy Edman, Shohei Ohtani, and even Kobe Bryant, but no Kershaw. However, it’s not the case anymore.

Kershaw has now officially been added to the 2025 bobblehead schedule. And appropriately enough, it’ll honor his incredible achievement of reaching 3,000 career strikeouts!

While Kershaw made an incredible comeback after a rough beginning to the season, the Dodgers also made a late comeback in their previous game against the White Sox where they were trailing 4-2 after Kershaw recorded his milestone strikeout.

But just when it looked like Kershaw’s historic moment might end in a loss, a dramatic three-run rally in the ninth turned the tables. It was capped off by a walk-off single by Freddie Freeman that brought in Shohei Ohtani. It eventually turned into a memorable night for Kershaw and the Dodgers, as the team sealed the game by 5-4.
