His colleague and former opponent, Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz, played a brutal prank on Derek, stabbing in the heart.?Soon after the clip of Ortiz playing the prank on Jeter was up on Twitter, UFC Bantamweight Champion Alijamain Sterling, aka Funk Master MMA, retaliated in the most intense way possible.?

As a true Yankee, Jeter swiftly discarded the Red Sox jersey from the broadcast desk while the rest of the crew, including Kevin Burkhardt and former Yankees teammate Alex Rodriguez, burst into laughter at Ortiz’s prank. Soon after, this MMA fighter and Yankees fan posted an Instagram story, reposting the segment and writing a brief message.
