The NY Yankees are arguably the greatest and most successful sporting team in the history of MLB. Founded in 1903, the New York Yankees have won 20 AL East titles, 40 AL pennants, and 27 World Series Championships. The Yanks have won more titles than any other team throughout all the Major sporting leagues in North America.

Along similar lines, the Yankees are leading the American League East Division at 0.615 (72-45). Despite being at the top of the table, since July 9th, they have lost 22 of their 33 games. After their last night’s defeat against Tampa Bay Rays, the Pinstripes have shockingly lost five straight series, and the disappointed fans have reacted rather humorously.

Disappointed and Sardonic Fans of the NY Yankees

Last night, the New York Yankees took on the Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium. Hoping for some respite from the consecutive losses, the Rays started off with some damage and took a 0-3 lead. However, the pitchers covered up well and limited any runs post the first innings. And once again, it was the batters who disappointed, leading the Yankees to a 1-3 loss.

Now, after losing the first two games in the series, the Yankees have lost their 5th series on the trot. Markedly, this is their first such humiliating and consecutive series loss since 2005.

Given the rarity of a situation like this, is it time to panic for the Yankees think tank and management? That being said, despite the multiple losses, the Yankees still lie on top of the AL East points table. Moreover, considering their past record, robust management, and strong lineup, the Yankees are expected to make a well-announced comeback.
