Atlanta Braves fans have been treated to some great baseball this year. Amidst an unpredictable season with big teams falling, they have remained consistently excellent. Ronald Acuna Jr., who has garnered a strong case for MVP, is at the center of it. However, in a recent game vs. the Chicago Cubs, tensions rose as the star outfielder almost lost his cool, putting him in a negative limelight.

Acuna Jr. has also been sensational with the bat and on the base paths. The star outfielder has helped his team remain at the top of baseball this year. In this latest game, he almost followed in Jose Ramirez’s footsteps but managed to hold back.

The Braves face off against the Cubs in an away series. Things got off to a good start for the former team with an 8-0 win in the series opener. But in the second game, Ronald Acuna Jr. almost followed in Cleveland Guardians’ Jose Ramirez’s footsteps, growing tensions.

As Ramirez exchanged fists with Chicago White Sox’s Tim Anderson, Acuna Jr. had an intense encounter with Cubs pitcher Javier Assad. He stared down Assad after nearly being hit in the face with a pitch. The Braves star’s bat slipped out of his hand and flew as he was struck out in another at-bat. In the caption, they said, “That’s gotta be scary,” while talking about the pitch near his head. After the wild throw, Acuna Jr. exchanged words with Assad and looked ready for a fight. But he turned around, kept calm, and returned to the batter’s box instead. It was a taut scene. 

The Braves star was ready to chase after the home run king’s crown this year but has excelled in other statistics. He has smashed 25 home runs and 52 stolen bases thus far, an incredible feat. With over 50 games left, Acuna Jr. can add to those numbers. But although he avoided a fight today, his family got into it earlier this year.

Ronald Acuna Jr. suited up in the Venezuelan Winter League earlier this year. It was a great way to showcase his skills and get practice before the MLB season.

But during a game in January, his family got into a brawl with other fans after the Braves star hit a home run. Opposing fans took exception to Acuna Jr.’s home run celebration and got into a confrontation with his family.

Ronald Acuna Jr. generally only keeps his cool if provoked. And during this recent game, he got very close to starting a brawl after a close pitch.
