Among the many things Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is, he is most equivocally, a New York Yankees hater.

Time and again, Vladdy Jr. has made his dislike for the New York Yankees clear, but contrary to that, 2004 AL MVP, his father, Vladimir Guerrero, who retired from the Big Leagues with nine All-Star appearances, and eight Silver Slugger awards has some different, and more rational advice for the young 24-year-old two-time All-Star.

As reported by MLB insider Hector Gomez, Vladdy Sr. recently gave some advice to Vladdy Jr., who will hit free agency after the conclusion of the 2024 season. From all his possible landing spots, New York is the farthest (even though literally not so much). But that doesn’t change the fact that the Steinbrenner family has the money to spend, and will rarely look away if it means adding quality to the roster.

Analogous to that, Vladdy Sr., once again, asks his son to leave the Yankees be, and says, “Forget about the Yankees, forget about what happened, get to work because you don’t know which team can make you money.”

Vladdy Jr. has started 2023 off pretty well. He’s smashed seven homers, with 51 hits at 0.293 and 27 runs batted in. But Vladdy, and the Blue Jays, who are at number four in AL East, still have a very long way to go in this season.

Do you think Vladdy Jr. will take his father’s advice and actually consider putting aside his beef with the New York Yankees? If yes, this would be the most fitting example of haters turning into lovers.
