‘Was Tough to Hear’- Josh Donaldson Gets Candid on Being Criticized by New York Yankees Star Teammate Aaron Judge

Josh Donaldson is finding life in the Bronx tough to adapt to. After writing himself into pinstriped lore after his Opening Day heroics against the Boston Red Sox, Donaldson’s Bronx journey took an unexpected turn come May. In a series taking on the Chicago White Sox, the third baseman had to serve a one-game suspension for an incident with White Sox infielder Tim Anderson. While Donaldson awaits his appeal, he has served the suspension but has said that his clubhouse’s reaction let him down.
The 3rd baseman shifted base to the Bronx this season with potential bursting at the seams. Despite previous altercations with ace Gerrit Cole, Donaldson has settled into his role as a hitter in Pinstripes. Recent rumblings, however, may be set to upset the established order. With the incident inciting reactions from stars both on the roster and in the front office, Donaldson could feel hard done with his response.

Josh Donaldson reacts to Yankees support
Donaldson was reportedly miffed regarding how the situation had played out. Said Donaldson, “I think that was tough to hear. For sure. Just for the simple fact that, I pride myself on being a good teammate.” The Yankees may have started the season on track for success, but Donaldson believes that team chemistry has contributed too.
Said Donaldson, “And I’ve taken pride like everywhere I went I’ve always tried to help people try to get better.” Donaldson spoke about how as a result maybe he took the lack of support from his clubhouse a bit harder. “I’ve tried to learn from my teammates as well. So that was definitely tough,” he added.
