Mike Trout is one of the best players in the MLB right now, with his signature powerful batting. Despite playing for one of the worst MLB teams, Trout has flourished and become a bonafide superstar. While playing for the Los Angeles Angels, the centerfielder has played fantastic baseball year after year. But this hasn’t made a difference, as the Angels have failed to put good pieces around Trout. 

The offseason is currently going on and most players are working on their game or enjoying some time off. Trout was doing the latter but he found the opportunity to show off his powerful swing.

Mike Trout hit 184 mph while at a Top Golf driving range

Mike Trout was recently seen enjoying a session of golf while at a Top Golf grieving range. But the Angels’ star outfielder showcased his familiar powerful swing even while playing golf. Trout was taking on the Top Golf Ball Speed Challenge and managed to hit it at 184mph. Twitter account Rocks in the Outfield shared a video of it on Twitter. 

In the Tweet, they said, “184MPH off the iron for Mike Trout and yes it left the yard. 😂 (via his IG)”. According to the Tweet, Trout even managed to hit the ball out of the driving range. This was a perfect show of how powerful his hitting really is.

Fans will look forward to seeing that hitting on full display during the 2023 season. The Angels have made some sneaky moves to improve their roster but nothing too flashy. It will be interesting to see how the Angels perform in 2023. Furthermore, 2023 may be a season that defines the Angels’ long-term future. 

The Angels need to make the most of Trout’s prime years

2023 is a huge year for the Los Angeles Angels and the team’s future. Their franchise star Mike Trout will turn 32 this year. He only has a few years left at the top of his game. Furthermore, their other superstar Shohei Ohtani will become a free agent after the 2023 season. These are two huge reasons why this year will be critical for the franchise.

Ohtani signed a 1-year $30 million contract to avoid arbitration. He will become a free agent and will reportedly sign a huge contract worth around $500 million. According to the New York Post’s Jon Heyman, “Word is Ohtani will indeed shoot for $500M plus”.
