New York Mets have emerged as one of the heavyweights of the 2022 MLB season. Even after suffering several injuries to their key players, the Buck Showalter-led team has been a force to reckon with in the National League East.

Although the New York Mets registered their fifth consecutive win on Tuesday, the major attraction of the game was an unbelievable catch by one spectator in the stands. What is more amazing about it is that he grabbed it with one hand while holding his one-year-old baby in the other hand.

Right from the start of the game, the Mets dominated the Washington Nationals from both ends. Their rise in the current season has been nothing but phenomenal. Players like Starling Marte, Mark Canha, and Francisco Lindor have been dominating the offense.

New York Mets extend their winning streak in the NL East

Not only the National League East division, but the New York Mets have been ruling the entire National League. They have registered the most wins (34) in the NL. Coming back to the game against the Nationals, Starling Marte, once again, had an excellent game from the plate.

The Mets outfielder belted a two-run home run in the stands. When Marte hit the ball, a man named Alcantara, standing beside the rail, snagged the ball with one hand while holding his one-year-old baby in the other hand.

Per MLB.com, Alcantara said he tried to catch the home run ball, and he successfully did.

“I knew I was not going to have time to put the baby down,” Alcantara said. “So I decided to just hold on tight to him, jump on the rail and see if I could catch the ball. And we did.”
