The world was simple in the 90s. Nirvana was popular, movies were good, and you knew that no matter what happened,  the Yankees were going to win. The New York Yankees dynasty was not just a popular phrase but actually a reality. They won 4 World Series in 5 years. It was the absolute pinnacle. A place that but a few teams ever get to see. In the center of that great team were 4 players.

Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, and Mariano Rivera – often dubbed as the “Core Four”. Due to the presence of these four players, the Yankees built a dynasty. But more than professional success, these four greats found in each other a personal relationship bigger than any prize. So it’s no surprise that sometimes they choose to have light-hearted moments with each other. That’s exactly what Jorge Posada did recently.

Social media has made it easy to mess with your friends. Also, it has allowed the fans to see their heroes indulge in some fun acts with each other. So what happens when Jorge Posada decides to take part in some Instagram game? Well! he makes a fun video where he trolls his Yankees teammate Andy Pettite.

In a wholesome video, Posada is making fun of being mistaken for Andy Pettite. Posada’s wife Laura asks him whether she can pet his tiny little furry guy but he mishears it to Andy Pettite and clears that he’s Jorge Posada. What makes this video funnier is the fact that it brings to mind a question has this actually ever happened with Posada? Anyway, the acting performance of Sado here is just like his playing career was, impeccable.

It’s great to see “Core Four” still having fun years after they stopped playing together. The New York Yankees fans sure are missing the era that these four had. The dynasty they created does not exist anymore. Still, their memories remain.

Core Four – The Heart of the New York Yankees

Most Baseball fans still remember the Core Four and their dominance in the league. As Captain Clutch Derek Jeter said once about Posada ” you really don’t see one of us without the other.” Although the line is meant only for Jorge Posada it can be applied to all four of the members of this iconic group.

So now the Yankees are trying to reclimb the heights they reached with this set of players. It’s tougher than it sounds, but maybe just maybe the Yankees can catch lightning on a bottle twice. Fans sure hope that they do.
