May 4th is a very iconic day. People all around the world celebrate this special day to commemorate the iconic movie series, Star Wars. But this year’s Star Wars day literally worked out for the MLB franchise, Toronto Blue Jays.

There is a famous phrase from Star Wars, “May the force be with you”. On May 4th, i.e., on Star Wars Day, the Blue Jays played like a force that the New York Yankees could not handle. Not only did they win the game against the Yankees, but the Blue Jays also broke the 11-game winning streak of the Pinstripes.

The Yankees were dominating the American League East for the past two weeks. After their humiliating defeat against the Baltimore at the Camden Yards, they bounced back in a fascinating way. But, the Blue Jays, their division rival, are also enjoying a good run this season. On the iconic Star Wars Day, the Blue Jays broke the Yankees’ winning streak.

Star Wars’ Chewbacca brought much-needed luck for the Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays needed some extra strength and a bit of luck to defeat the monstrous Yankees. And with Chewbacca doing the honors for the Blue Jays to throw their first pitch, they got the much-needed force to register their first win against the Yankees this season.

The video of Chewbacca throwing the pitch is doing rounds on the internet. During the game, Chewbacca also did an excellent job to cheer up the audience. Hence, the Yankees faced the first defeat in their last 12 league games.

Although the Blue Jays won the third game, they lost the three-game series against the New York Yankees. With 18 wins out of 25 games, the Yankees are donning the AL East division. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays are second to the Yankees with 16 wins out of 26 games.
